  9. Open Licensing of the "Dr. Beter AUDIO LETTER(R)" Tapes

  14.   "Audio Books Inc. hereby grants an open license, without fee,
  15. to any and all producers of cassette tapes who may wish to pro-
  16. duce and distribute any or all of the 'Dr. Beter AUDIO LET-
  17. TER' tape reports. This applies to individuals who may wish
  18. to make and distribute copies; to small commercial tape mar-
  19. keters; and to large cassette marketing organizations. This
  20. open license applies whether the tapes are to be distributed
  21. free or sold, provided the following conditions and limitations
  22. are adhered to:
  23.  
  24.   1. This license applies only to the 'Dr. Beter AUDIO LET-
  25. TER' tape report series. A few other tapes designated 'AUD-
  26. IO BOOK' tapes and 'SPECIAL TAPES' are also being phased
  27. out but will not be licensed.
  28.  
  29.   2. Any 'Dr. Beter AUDIO LETTER' tape which is to be re-
  30. produced under this open license must be reproduced exactly as
  31. is, in its entirety, without any deletions, additions, or combin-
  32. ation with any other recorded material on the same tape.
  33.  
  34.   3. Each 'Dr. Beter AUDIO LETTER' tape produced under
  35. this open license must bear a statement protecting the regis-
  36. tered 'Audio Letter' trademark. This statement may be on
  37. the main cassette label, on an auxiliary label, or printed di-
  38. rectly on the cassette itself. The statement shall say:
  39.  
  40.   'Audio Letter' is a registered trademark of Audio Books,
  41.    Inc., a Texas corporation, which originally produced this
  42.    tape recording.
  43.  
  44. Limitation: The rights and fees which are waived under
  45. this open license are those of Audio Books Inc. only. We are
  46. not empowered to speak for Dr. Beter, who should be contacted
  47. directly about any royalty arrangement he may desire before
  48. producing tapes under this license. As of this printing, Dr.
  49. Beter may be contacted at the following address:
